A Healer's Role

Each clinical hour should begin without memory, without desire, and without understanding.  The intentional remembering of the previous session (holding to who the patient was in the past), the desire (to cure or to influence), and the illusion of understanding, all contend against the kind of receptivity that allows something entirely new to arise.  A healer's role is to be there, but out of the way.

We are what we repeatedly do.  Excellence... is not an act, but a habit.
